The new year is a time of contemplation for many and it’s probably no surprise that this is busiest time of the year for people to change jobs, change homes, change businesses or even make changes on the personal front.
They say a change is as good as a holiday, but when the Christmas decorations are packed away and the excitement of the festive season is behind us, what is left is often a bleak 12 months stretching out in front of us, working in a boring, demanding or limiting job simply while you wait for the next end-of-year holidays to roll around!
While many workers flood internet employment sites around this time, more and more people are changing track and looking at owning their own business as a flexible, rewarding alternative. While there are certainly risks involved, the ever strengthening franchising industry has presented workers with a supportive, easy and relatively risk-free way to change their working arrangements.
Jim’s Cleaning CEO, Haydar Hussein, says of the growing trend “While early in the new year has always been a busy time for us, we are definitely seeing a change in the number of applicants who are really educated about what a franchise business offers. This could be in part due to the proliferation of information on the internet but also I think reflects the changing attitude to what people have a right to expect from their work and lifestyle balance, and their ability to take charge in getting it.”
